  The fresh whelks are transported by refrigerated car/truck, at temperatures of +2 to +4 C, for journeys of maximum 2 hours, immediately after collection.

 

  The processing takes place within 2 days from collection.

   Ingredients 100%  : 1 piece only- whelk meat

   Shelf life : 36 months (frozen)

   Flavor: The goods should have a flavor specific to that of snails and other marine invertebrates, with a seawater odor

   Appearance: Depending on the boiling method, the meat can be slightly orange, yellow or beige-white (this is possible due to eventual frostbites or                                     manipulation as the meat is very sensitive)

   Texture: The meat should be quite soft and sponge-like

 

 

   The calories in Whelk per 25g(1peeling) is 22 calories. Whelk is calculated to be 86Cal per 100 grams making 80Cal equivalent to        93.02g with 4.45g of mostly protein0.58g of carbohydrates0.05g of fat in 25g while being rich in vitamins and minerals such as            Vitamin B12 and Magnesium.
